Farm Happenings

Sometimes the farmers have a little fun with the food – as you can see here! Clark is posing with a zucchini that split in the field.

The CSA Member Potluck that was originally scheduled for last Friday was postponed because of weather. The rescheduled date is Friday, July 11 from 6-8 PM. As a reminder, the U-Pick fields will be open during this time as well, but the previously planned U-Pick Saturday on the 12th has been cancelled. Please complete the RSVP form if you are able to attend.

As always, if you need to pick up your share late, on Friday at the farm from 7:30-4pm, please text Kristi to let her know.

You-Pick this week:

Flowers, herbs, okra, and kale remain open for you-pick!

Here is our handy-dandy guide for you-pick, including where to find the field, harvest methods, and other useful information.

Raspberries remain open for you-pick, but they are winding down. Blackberries are available but they are not in full flush yet. Each family can harvest 1 quart size container of berries a week.

Farm Stand this week:

Farm stand sales will be available at both locations – so even if you’re not a member you can still come and shop! This week we will have a lot of blueberries for sale! Please be aware that, although these blueberries are grown at this farm, they are not organic.

Recipes & Tips for This Week’s Share

A simple but delicious way to enjoy the green beans in this week’s share is to sautee them with some onion or garlic – in the case of this recipe, you might just be able to use a red onion from last week’s share if you still have it around!

Although you may be too excited to do anything with the season’s first sweet corn besides throw it on the grill this weekend, a way to appreciate the delicate flavor and crisp texture of the farm’s corn is in this yummy salsa recipe.

Vegetarians are often looking for dishes to bring to a weekend cookout that don’t include meat. If that’s you, consider trying this BBQ cabbage! Give us a message if you do, we’d love to hear how it turned out.

As always, there are many more recipes on our blog! Let us know if there’s a recipe you use our veggies in, we’d love to include it.
